AKL Construction Services is a general renovation contractor based in Scarborough. We work on houses, townhomes and condos across Toronto and the GTA — mostly for homeowners who have already had one bad renovation and would like this one to go differently.
Who we are
Built on repeat customers, not ads.
We started the way most renovation companies around here start — one van, one carpenter, and neighbours who needed a kitchen done properly. A few years and a lot of GTA houses later the work is the same, just with a bigger crew and a longer list of people who call us back for the next room.
We are deliberately not the biggest contractor in the GTA. We run a handful of jobs at a time so that the person who quoted your renovation is the person who shows up to it, and so nobody's project sits idle while a crew is pulled somewhere else.
Everything we build is done by our own people or by trades we have used for years — the same electrician, the same plumber, the same tile setter. That is why the finish looks consistent from job to job.
How we work
Four rules we do not bend.
Renovations go wrong in predictable ways. These exist because of the ones we watched go wrong.
The quote is the price
Itemised, in writing, with material allowances. Anything that changes it is approved by you first — in writing, before the work happens.
One lead, start to finish
You get a name and a phone number on day one, and it is the same name at the final walkthrough.
Your house stays a house
Dust walls, floor protection, no tools left on the stairs, and a broom at the end of every day.
We say no to work we shouldn't take
If your budget doesn't match the scope, or the job needs an engineer we don't have, we'll say so at the first visit instead of finding out in week three.

Fully insured
Liability insurance and WSIB coverage for everyone on site. We provide certificates before work starts — ask any contractor for them.
Permits & inspections
We arrange drawings, pull permits and meet inspectors for structural, electrical, plumbing and second-suite work.
Licensed trades
Electrical and plumbing are done by licensed trades and signed off — never by a general labourer with a YouTube video.
2-year workmanship warranty
In writing, on everything we build. Manufacturer warranties on materials are passed through to you.
